Cine Abierto 2026 — free open-air cinema

📍 18 venues across Málaga (Malagueta, El Palo, Tabacalera, parks and more)

The city council brings summer cinema to every district with 105 free screenings. In July, highlights include beach sessions at La Malagueta and El Palo, a Spanish-film cycle at Plaza de Tabacalera (22:15), special screenings at the Historic Cemetery of San Miguel — including Sirat on 16 July — and the Cine con Firma series at the Eduardo Ocón Auditorium with subtitled original versions.

Feria and procession of the Virgen del Carmen — El Palo

📍 El Palo (East district)

The great popular festival of the Málaga coast. From 15 to 20 July, El Palo celebrates its fair in honour of the Virgen del Carmen with street parties, cultural activities and the traditional land-and-sea procession: the image parades through the neighbourhood, is taken aboard a boat off SAFA-ICET school and returns via the Chanquete beaches. Pedregalejo also holds its rosary and procession on the same day. An authentic experience just a short bus ride from the centre.

Brisa Festival 2026

📍 Dique de Levante, Málaga Port

The sixth edition of this indie and Spanish pop festival takes place by the sea, minutes from the centre on foot. Love of Lesbian open on Thursday 23 (their last Málaga show), Amaia and Siloé headline Friday 24, and M-Clan, OBK and La M.O.D.A. close on Saturday 25. The Brisa en tu barrio side programme also brings concerts to neighbourhood squares.

101 Music Festival — July concerts at La Malagueta

📍 Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta, Málaga

The bullring hosts one of the city’s most varied summer programmes: music, comedy and pop in an iconic setting. Confirmed July dates include Lia Kali (4), Guitarricadelafuente (11), Loquillo (18), Il Volo (19), El Arrebato (25) and Mónica Naranjo (31). Part of each ticket supports charitable causes.

Verónica Ruth Frías at MUCAC La Coracha
